GTA Trilogy Box Art Recreation Features All Three Games’ Protagonists

One talented artist has created a brand-new cover for the GTA trilogy remaster by merging all three original protagonists into one art piece.

One talented artist has created a remarkable new cover for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, taking all three classic Grand Theft Auto protagonists and merging them in a comic-book-style art piece. Grand Theft Auto‘s comic-book-style artwork has been an integral part of the series, allowing the titles to be easily recognizable for almost two decades. While the series is known for its over-the-top violence, detail, and humor, its unique art style perfectly sets the mood of each game and gives players a glimpse of what they can expect when diving into Rockstar Games’ universe.

The long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster was released November 2021 across consoles and PC, allowing modern audiences to experience the classic PS2-era titles – Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – revamped with visual enhancements and gameplay improvements for current-generation platforms. Each title features higher-resolution textures, greater draw distances, revamped lighting, weather effects, and modernized controls with the addition of each platform version of the GTA Definitive Edition being slightly different from the other. Unfortunately, displeased fans took to social media following its launch to scorn its graphical glitches, bugs, and more. Despite its technical issues, Rockstar Games has promised to release updates over time to correct many of the difficulties players are having, and the remastered collection is no longer in a broken state as it was during its disastrous launch.

Posted on Reddit, user KingFahad360 shared artwork by talented artist Patrick Brown that recreates the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition cover art with all three protagonists from the trilogy. The remarkable stitch puts together Claude Speed from Grand Theft Auto III, Tommy Vercetti from Vice City, and Carl Johnson from San Andreas, each character with their own respective color related to their games to create the ultimate collection cover. Interestingly, Brown’s art style in the image matches Rockstar’s and could easily fool anyone as being official due to being high quality and mint.

Despite receiving backlash, the newest GTA trilogy remaster aimed to live up to the series’ original vision, introducing a more cartoon-styled approach with its graphics reminiscent of the original art style. Rockstar has used the same art design for its Grand Theft Auto video game covers since the release of Grand Theft Auto III and continues to do so with each installment in the series.

Almost every title in the Grand Theft Auto trilogy is 20 years old and artists like Patrick Brown continue to keep the popular sandbox franchise timeless. While the original trilogy is considered to have aged poorly, the assortment of its aesthetics and characters offers something for everyone and will continue to do so for years to come.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will launch separately on iOS and Android in 2022.
