How much money Arsenal will save from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaving the club has been revealed.
After several months out in the cold at Arsenal following a disciplinary breach, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left the club for FC Barcelona.
Despite having around 17 months left to run on his contract at the time, Arsenal would terminate the forward’s deal, allowing him to join the Catalonian outfit for nothing.

A case could be made that this is bad business on the part of Arsenal and that they should have held out for a fee.
But it is easy to see why Arsenal allowed him to leave for nothing in January when, as per the Mirror, it has been revealed that Arsenal are set to save more than £25.7million following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Barcelona.
A wise move from Arsenal
Over £25m could easily buy, or at least contribute towards, a new signing in the summer.
And, as Aubameyang is 32, out of favour at Arsenal and would have just one year left on his deal come the summer, the Gunners probably would have not got £25m for the striker in the summer.
So, instead of letting the player stay at the club and potentially contribute towards a toxic environment as he clearly wanted to leave, Arsenal probably made the right call letting Aubameyang leave for nothing now.
Of course, that narrative could easily be twisted if Alexandre Lacazette picks up an injury and Eddie Nketiah is left as the north Londoners’ only senior striking option.
