When Varya creates content out of Geoffrey Paschel’s conviction, 90 Day Fiancé viewers slam her for making light of his serious criminal charges.
Many 90 Day Fiancé viewers blast Varya Malina for using Geoffrey Paschel’s conviction for self-promotion. The Russian native frequently posts controversial content on her social media. In January 2022, she flew to San Diego, California to celebrate her 33rd birthday with one of her American friends. While sightseeing, Varya filmed homeless people’s tents, which were alongside the road. In the video, Varya mockingly said that she was glamping in the « very fashionable » unsheltered encampments.
Many 90 Day Fiancé viewers found her comments tone-deaf and condescending. Some also reminded Varya that her boyfriend is behind bars for domestic violence; therefore, she should think twice before mocking others. A few followers also called out the 33-year-old reality star for posting such content for views. After receiving huge backlash on social media, Varya realized her mistake and explained why she made the joke. She addressed poverty and homelessness in her home country and issued an apology.
Now, 90 Day Fiancé viewers are again annoyed by Varya’s strange sense of humor. Varya posted a video on Instagram in which she picked out an outfit for Geoffrey to wear at his sentencing hearing. Her followers understand that Varya takes advantage of her platform and monetizes Instagram reels, but her attempt to use Geoffrey’s conviction for self-promotion didn’t sit well with many. Reddi user 80007 reposted a screenshot of Varya’s video and wrote, « I physically can’t. WHY DID SHE POST THIS AHHHH. » Another chimed in, « Light colors match his personality?? None of that is gonna help him and it doesn’t remove the pain he inflicted on his ex.«
Varya reached the court the next day to attend her beau’s sentencing hearing. She took his suit with her, but he wasn’t allowed to wear it. She posted a picture from court with the caption, « They don’t allow him to wear a suit. Let the circus begin. » A different Redditor commented, « Do they not know what he’s being sentenced for?? It’s pretty horrific!!!!! » While some 90 Day Fiancé viewers think poorly of Varya, others believe she is too smart and secretly wants Geoffrey to be sentenced for a long time so she can enjoy her life (probably in his house) without any worries. However, it’s impossible to know how she really feels.

Though her boyfriend has been found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls, she thinks he is innocent.
