A video clip from RHOC alum Elizabeth Lyn Vargas’ home security shows her ex-boyfriend Ryan Geraghty facing off as he threatens to kill her.
New footage shows The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Elizabeth Lyn Vargas being threatened by her ex-boyfriend inside her Newport Beach home. Fans of RHOC may remember Elizabeth from season 15, who was introduced to the cast through former castmate Kelly Dodd. Throughout her one season, Elizabeth revealed she grew up in a cult that was founded by her family. Viewers saw Elizabeth dealing with her past trauma and how she was hoping to come to terms with it.
By the end of the season, Elizabeth was working through her past issues while also getting to the final stages of her divorce from her wealthy ex. However, fans were not able to get an update from Elizabeth as she was fired from RHOC after one season. She was let go from the Bravo series alongside Kelly and Braunwyn Windham-Burke.
Security footage from inside Elizabeth’s home obtained by TMZ shows the eerie moment in which her ex threatened her life. The clip shows the former reality star facing off with her ex Ryan Geraghty, who barricaded himself, inside Elizabeth’s home last Tuesday. What is shown in the video is Ryan’s reaction to Elizabeth calling the authorities on him for entering her home without permission. « I’m taking you out and then everybody else, » he says in the clip. « They can shoot me if they want. I don’t give a f–k anymore. I’ve got nothing to lose. » Before the video was released, Page Six confirmed through a police report that Ryan was arrested after he « was actively threatening the life of the victim. » According to a press release from the Newport Beach Police, Elizabeth’s ex was ultimately charged with assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and extortion.
Before the traumatic event took place last week, friends close to Elizabeth, who left RHOC, said Ryan had been extorting her for a while. « He became obsessive with her and would show up at places and come by her house randomly, » one insider said. Elizabeth reportedly started to give him a little bit of money, « but then [he] threatened to start extorting her. » Once the reported extortion became worse, Elizabeth chose to involve the police. The authorities immediately began monitoring her house the day he threatened her. When Ryan realized police were involved, he ran inside and helped her at gunpoint. When the cops found out he had a gun, they decided to raid the home. Her manager, David Weintraub, later revealed Elizabeth was shaken up by the traumatic incident but is « doing well. »
The video footage from the incident clearly shows how scared Elizabeth was at that moment. Luckily, she had the authorities on her side and was able to escape the situation unharmed.
