Now, a brand-new trailer for the Ted Kaczynski biopic film, Ted K, has been released by Super LTD, putting the spotlight on Copley’s performance as the notorious Unabomber. The trailer starts off with Kaczynski writing down his thoughts on how modern society is negatively impacting the environment around him and how it’s leading to the downfall of his country. The trailer cranks up the tension once it’s shown that he decides to take matters into his own hands as his alarming convictions and paranoia lead him on a path of revenge. There have been multiple takes on the Unabomber, most recently with 2017’s Netflix mini-series, Manhunt: Unabomber, with WandaVision star Paul Bettany playing the role of Kaczynski. While the plot of the series was presented mostly from the perspective of the FBI agents looking for him, Ted K will follow Kaczynski’s point of view. It’s quite clear that the film’s primary selling point will be Copley’s portrayal of the deadly bomber. With films like District 9 and Elysium, the South African actor and frequent collaborator of director Neil Blomkamp has proved that he’s more than capable of putting in a tour-de-force performance. Early reviews for the film and the above-shown trailer promise exactly that, and audiences will get a chance to see it for themselves when Ted K debuts digitally and in theaters on February 18.
