[ad_1]

Ahead of Sifu’s official launch, developer Sloclap has some tips to help new players overcome the game’s challenge and master the combat.

For those struggling to master the difficulties of Sifu, developer Sloclap is offering players some tips and advice. Currently available to those with early access, Sifu will soon receive its official release. The game has already reignited the ongoing debate surrounding the difficulty and accessibility of video games.

Sifu is the first major exclusive for PlayStation and the Epic Games store of 2022 and has been highly anticipated. While some players were given early access to the game a few days ago, the official release date is February 8th, 2022. The game is an ode to classic martial arts movies, though it has also sparked discussion because Sifu does not have a traditional difficulty level.

Oxtero VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sifu’s developer Sloclap has offered some tips ahead of the game’s official release. The post, written by Sloclap’s Community Manager Felix Garczynski, is divided into three sections. The first section focuses on overall game progression tips, recommending that players train their defensive abilities, look for shortcuts in the environment, and, most importantly, stay calm and push on. The next section focuses on Sifu‘s boss fights and tells players to observe their opponent while waiting for their opportunity to strike. Finally, the post says that when dealing with groups it is important not to get surrounded and focus on crowd control.

The gameplay hook of Sifu is all about mastering the combat and growing as a fighter to overcome the game’s five levels. While many with early access to Sifu have enjoyed the high level of skill needed to master the game’s combat, others have questioned whether the game would benefit from an easier difficulty. While Sloclap has previously hinted that it may add difficulty levels in the future, it is at least aware that players could benefit from some help. The tips featured in the post should give struggling players a chance against the game’s challenges.

Discussion around the difficulty in video games is becoming more common and for good reasons. While some players enjoy challenging games, difficulty also proves to be an accessibility issue. Games that require quick reactions or rapid button pressing can be hard, or even impossible, for some gamers, excluding players from enjoying the other experiences offered by the game. Of course, the more people that can play a game the better but there may be exceptions to this rule. Sifu could be one of those exceptions, given that mastering the combat and overcoming the difficulty is the prime focus of the game. Still, some players just want to experience this story and an easier difficulty would allow just that.
