An insight into the summer transfer plans of Spanish giants FC Barcelona has been provided on Thursday evening.

The info surrounds the plans of the Blaugrana to reinforce the club’s ranks in the middle of the park.

Despite the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Pedri having been added to by the breakthrough talents of both Nico and Gavi over the opening half of the campaign, those in a position of power at the Camp Nou evidently remain of the opinion that Xavi’s midfield options remain insufficient.

In turn, as per Marca, one individual has been identified as the ideal solution to the club’s concerns.

The player in question? Franck Kessie.

It is understood that Kessie, a key cog in the AC Milan machine, is the midfielder in ‘pole’ position to link up with Barcelona ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

This comes with the Ivorian’s contract at the San Siro due to expire in the summer, and little progress having been made in negotiations with the Rossoneri regarding a renewal.

Not only that, but Kessie himself is understood to be keen on the prospect of a move to Catalunya.
