An update on the future of AC Milan Franck Kessie has emerged following links to Spanish powerhouse, FC Barcelona.
Kessie now looks set to depart AC Milan on a free. The midfielder’s contract expires at the end of June, meaning he can now sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.
Barcelona were seemingly looking to take advantage of this, when it was reported last month that there was a verbal agreement in place between Kessie and Barcelona for when his contract with Milan expires in June.
Now, though, a fresh update on the midfielder’s future has emerged, suggesting Barca do not actually have an agreement with Kessie.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Franck Kessie still has no full agreement with any club.
And whilst Barcelona have been in contact with Kessie’s agent since December, the midfielder has not made his final choice yet:
Franck Kessié has still no full agreement with any club. Barcelona are in contact with his agent since December, they are waiting for him – Kessié has not made his final choice yet. Race still open, other clubs also interested. ⚠️🇨🇮 #FCB

Franck Kessie’s AC Milan stint
Kessie, 25, would join current side AC Milan from Atalanta on a permanent basis in July of 2019 after a loan spell at the club.
All told, Kessie has now featured on 208 occasions for the Rossoneri, scoring 36 and assisting 16 in the process.
The Ivory Coast international has also continued to be a key cog in Milan’s side this season, scoring six and assisting one in 24 games.
