Manchester City’s Phil Foden reveals his preferred position & reacts to Sergio Aguero claim

[ad_1]

Phil Foden has recently been speaking about his preferred position.

The Englishman did break into the Manchester City team as a central player.

However, for both Man City and England, Foden is now often used out wide on the left, though he can still play through the middle on occasion.

And now, when asked about his preferred position, Foden stated he is happy to play wherever he is put, but he did suggest he would like to play as an 8 or 10 in the future:  “Wherever the manager puts me, I feel comfortable and I enjoy playing.

“I’d like to think in the future I could play in one of the number ‘8’ or ’10’ roles, a little bit deeper – I’d probably say there.”

In the same interview, Foden was asked about Sergio Aguero’s recent claim that he is the Argentine’s favourite player, to which he had this to say: “Dreams do come true. I remember watching him as a ballboy, it was crazy that I actually got to play with him and experience what he was like as a person – top guy, top person.

“When I saw his comment, I couldn’t believe it.”

Manchester City vs Tottenham

Foden’s next outing for Manchester City is expected to be against Tottenham on Saturday evening.

City headed into the weekend’s action boasting a nine-point lead atop the Premier League.

However, as Liverpool boast a game in hand, that gap could be reduced to six points fairly quickly.

And with the Reds in fine form, Man City cannot really afford to drop any points against Tottenham, especially with Liverpool set to play out a considerably more straightforward (on paper, at least) meeting with Norwich City this weekend.

The Sky Blues, though, will face Spurs at a pretty ideal time. Antonio Conte’s side have slipped down to 8th in the Premier League table after losing their last three league matches.

Tottenham could still climb back into the European spots by winning their games in hand, but recent form suggests that the Lilywhites will find it tough to do so.
